Connor, your points are valid and understandable, however there is one comment I would like to make regarding Alabama and the SEC [I'm now living in Auburn, AL, totally immersed in SEC talk and reporting]. Risking becoming an SEC apostate, following this football season in particular, I consider the SEC a one-team conference ~ that one team being Alabama. For various reasons, Alabama has, and continues to tower over the SEC, and perhaps over the world of college football. So the stage is set for another test of Alabama at the highest level. The remaining SEC teams will be tested against various contenders. Alabama is expected to add another national championship to its crown. Other teams, other conferences, will test each other. When the champion is crowned we'll have a clearer understanding of strengths and weaknesses across the spectrum of college football. But before the first bowl game I stand by my observation that now, the SEC is essentially a one-team, Alabama, conference.

. Well, that was easy!!! Down 28-7? Not a problem..... What this team ~ what these coaches ~ have accomplished this season goes beyond words!!! PENN STATE ~ 2016 Big Ten Champions!!! With more to come..... Before the game it was my opinion that even with a loss the Nittanys would still win the season!!! Defeat Wisconsin??? An even more unbelievable end to an already-unbelievable season!!! It is!!! And it's not over..... Rose Bow is a given..... But, in this unpredictable season, one of the four slots in the championship series is a "maybe!" We'll know tomorrow..... Meanwhile, we have more to chew on than we can ever expected!!! Thank you TEAM!!! Thank you COACHES!!! Thanks to you all ~ WE ARE ~ PENN STATE!!!

Bill O'Brien DID save the PSU football program when the lawless NCAA attempted to deal a "death penalty" to a team that had NO direct involvement in the Sandusky scandal. BO'B saved it ~ JF has resurrected it! Credit BO'B, JF and his now-excellent assistant coaches ~ and most of all, the kids who suit-up, play hard and WIN!!! THEY ARE ~ WE ARE ~ PENN STATE!!!

Well stated, Conner ~ or should I say, Well Penn Stated..... I'm a PSU alum..... After the loss to Michigan I was resigned to another "wait 'til next year!" I'd have been happy with another 7-5 season and minor bowl game, giving James Franklin the '17 season to prove his worth and his team to prove its talent..... I didn't have to wait..... For eight more games I watched the miracle of Happy Valley in a mixture of disbelief and euphoria..... Tonight I'm a believer ~ and euphoric!!! Big game next Saturday ~ Wisconsin 10-2..... PSU 10-2..... WOW!!! I enjoy your columns..... Jim R

Agreed, Connor, but don't overlook JF's addition of Joe Moorhead as O-coordinator and his elevation of Brent Pry as D-coordinator..... Yes, JF was fighting through the NCAA's unwarranted sanctions in years 1 and 2, but the contrast of this season via-a-vis years 1 and 2 are stark..... When PSU upset OSU I was euphoric but not convinced PSU was the better team..... Now, one game before a B1G Championship [maybe] and/or a major bowl game, I'm not so sure!!! I enjoy your columns.....

Sandy Barbour and James Franklin! Is this a duo for athletic success? Or a case of the blind leading the blind? It's unfair to draw conclusions at this point of JF's third season as PSU's head football coach ~ but it's not unfair to say the scales seem to be tipping toward the latter case. But it's too soon to order two white-canes.....

PA belongs to Pitt??? So says the second-best player on yesterday's field..... PSU has two runners behind Shaquon who're better than Conner..... He can be thankful he's at Pitt ~ NOT at PSU!!!
