According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Nebraska great Ahman Green was arrested in Wisconsin on a child abuse charge.

The Press-Gazette reported that Green, 40, was taken to the Brown County Jail on Monday morning and charged officially with Child Abuse-Intentionally Cause Harm/Cruelty toward Child.

It’s unknown what exactly led to Green’s arrest. The case is still under investigation with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

Green was part of two national championship teams at Nebraska in the 1990s. The second-team All-American racked up 3,880 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns, which was second all-time at Nebraska.

In the NFL, Green became the Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading rusher after spending eight of his 12 seasons with the Packers. The Omaha native was a four-time Pro Bowl selection.

Green was a 2012 inductee in the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
