WATCH: Penn State WR Juwan Johnson has an atypical favorite play of spring ball
Juwan Johnson has been the talk of Penn State’ spring camp.
James Franklin said on the B1G teleconference last week that Johnson’s maturity and business-like approach stood out. Based on one of Johnson’s responses to a question, it’s not hard to see what Franklin was talking about.
Johnson was asked about his stellar spring, specifically what his favorite play was.
What was his answer? It wasn’t a miraculous one-handed grab or a catch he made in traffic. In fact, it wasn’t a catch at all.
Johnson’s favorite play was a block he made downfield to spring Trace McSorley open on a keeper.
Here was that play:
WR @Ju_heard_ ‘s top play this spring? ‘Probably a block I had for Trace.’

The hype for Johnson continues to grow as he enters his third season with the Lions. The sophomore-to-be is one of several options who could fill Chris Godwin’s role. The former four-star recruit certainly seems focused on becoming a complete receiver.
And by the look of it, he’s well on his way.
