When it comes to returning kickoffs, Janarion Grant’s still got it.

The former Rutgers Scarlet Knight took the opening kickoff 97 yards for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers against the B.C. Lions.

The Blue Bombers went on to win the game 43-22. Grant, a Winnipeg wide receiver, did not have any carries or receptions in the game.

In 5 games this season, Grant has 2 receptions for 16 yards. He made both receptions in Monday’s game against Toronto. Grant also logged his only carry of the season, a 4-yard rush, in the Toronto game.

As a return specialist, Grant has 20 punt returns for 208 yards this season. He has also returned 7 kickoffs for 243 yards. Saturday’s score was his first TD of the season. Grant was returned 3 missed field goals for 90 yards.

Grant began his professional career in the NFL, signing with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in May 2018. He has been in the CFL since 2019.
