Trace McSorley’s illustrious Penn State career is coming to an end, but he will get one more game in the Citrus Bowl.

The Nittany Lions found out Sunday afternoon that they were officially headed to Orlando to take on SEC foe Kentucky for their bowl game. McSorley said his initial reaction was simply excitement for the game:

“Excited, just to be able to play another game with this team,” said McSorley.

He went on to give his initial breakdown of Kentucky, choosing to highlight star RB Benny Snell and a strong defense:

“Benny Snell’s a great player,” explained McSorley. “He’s been dynamic all year. They’ve made a lot of noise this year. I think it’s not something people expected out of them, but they’ve got a lot of play makers, especially on the defensive side of the ball.”

In the end, McSorley was asked what it would mean to end his Penn State career with a win. He admitted securing one more win in a Nittany Lions uniform would be “the cherry on top” for his record-breaking career:

“That would be the cherry on top for everything,” McSorley admitted. “Just to go out with the great taste of victory in your mouth…to be able to put that (uniform) on one last time and come out with a win, I think it would be the cherry on top for my career.”
