Yannick Ngakoue has a new home in the NFL. The former Maryland standout is signing with the Chicago Bears.

Ngakoue’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that it’s a 1-year deal with $10 million guaranteed.

Ngakoue played at Maryland from 2013-to-2015 before opting to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. He was selected No. 69 overall in Round 3 by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ngakoue spent the first 4 seasons of his career in Jacksonville. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team for 2016. In 2017, Ngakoue was the NFL’s leader in forced fumbles with 6 and was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Ahead of the 2020 season, Ngakoue demanded to be traded by Jacksonville. The Vikings traded for Ngakoue on Aug. 31, 2020. During the 2020 season, Minnesota traded Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens.

After finishing the 2020 season in Baltimore, Ngakoue landed with the Las Vegas Raiders on a 2-year deal ahead of the 2021 season. In March 2022, however, Ngakoue was traded by the Raiders to the Indianapolis Colts.

Ngakoue is coming off a 2022 season in which he recorded 29 tackles and 9.5 sacks over 15 games as a starter. For his career, Ngakoue has played in 110 regular-season games (102 starts), recording 202 tackles, including 65 sacks, along with 13 passes defended, 2 interceptions and 21 forced fumbles.
