Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm won’t only be smiling because of some of the elite-level players he landed in the latest recruiting class, he’s also got a hefty check to go cash.

With the 2019 recruiting period officially in the books, Purdue landed the nation’s 25th-ranked class, which is a huge boost for the Boilermakers moving forward. It’s also a boost to Brohm’s bank account, as he’ll earn a $45,000 bonus for bringing in such a highly-ranked class, according to USA Today.

The bonus was worked into Brohm’s original contract when he too the job at Purdue in December 2016. While it’s not often that a head coach has recruiting incentives in his contract, the Boilermakers hadn’t landed even a top 50 class in several years.

Purdue’s top 25 class was anchored by four recruits who were listed as four-star talents by 247Sports: George Karlaftis (DE), David Bell (WR), Milton Wright (WR), Marvin Grant (S). Karlaftis and Bell were listed as the top two players from Indiana.

The Boilermakers had 26 players commit during the 2019 recruiting period. The class also ranks fifth in the B1G.
