Purdue’s search to replace Darrell Hazell will not include former LSU coach Les Miles, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

Sources say that is “no longer a possibility.”

Instead, Miles has become a top candidate for the vacant position at Houston, alongside Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.

“Les Miles has always recruited Texas (while head coach at LSU and Oklahoma State) and has friends in Houston,” a source informed McMurphy. “It could be what Miles is looking for.”

Past reports indicate Purdue’s main target has been Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck, though the 36-year-old coaching phenom has stated he hasn’t heard from any other schools and is fully engaged in the Broncos’ MAC Championship Game vs. Ohio this weekend.
