WATCH: Here's Jeff Brohm's response to rumors surrounding Louisville job
Rumors connecting Jeff Brohm to Louisville’s vacant head-coaching position were only a matter of time.
The Cardinals announced Sunday that the school was parting ways with head coach Bobby Petrino. Louisville has struggled for much of the season and fell to 2-8 over the weekend.
It did not take long for Brohm’s name to be connected to the opening following Petrino’s dismissal. After all, he played his college ball as quarterback of the Cardinals and also served as an assistant coach there earlier in his career.
He was understandably asked about the rumors during his Monday press conference. Here’s how he responded to the question, courtesy of Purdue on BTN:

He was also asked if coaching at Louisville was a dream of his. Brohm said it wasn’t, but he did indicate he enjoyed his time there:
Brohm asked if coaching Louisville has been a dream of his … "No it has not. (But) … I liked where I lived and where I played and I have a great appreciation for that." Said he always wants his alma mater to do well

Fans will just have to wait and see if Brohm will indeed remain at Purdue for 2019.
