Eric LeGrand will be honorary captain for Sky Blue FC of National Women’s Soccer League

Former Rutgers defensive tackle and current motivational speaker, Eric LeGrand, has been chosen to be an honorary captain for a Sky Blue FC soccer game. He’ll serve in that position on Saturday, May 20.

Sky Blue will host the Houston Dash in a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)¬†match.

“It is an honor to be the honorary captain for the Sky Blue FC women’s soccer team,” LeGrand said, according to the team’s website. “I have been a fan of the game for a long time and I am proud to represent New Jersey with them.”

According to Sky Blue’s website, LeGrand has been a longtime supporter of the soccer club. In addition to the former Rutgers defender serving as an honorary captain, Sky Blue FC will also take part in his 7th Annual A Walk to Believe 5K and Fun Walk.

The game is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Saturday and will include a special halftime ceremony to honor LeGrand.
