Melvin Gordon has been in the headlines recently and it hasn’t been because of his football abilities.

It has been because of him choosing to sit out due to a contract dispute with the Los Angeles Chargers. When on the field, though, everybody knows Gordon can do it all.

This isn’t just because of his time with the Chargers. When at Wisconsin, Gordon was absurdly good as well. From 2011-14, Gordon ran for 4,915 yards (on a 7.8 yards per carry average) and 45 TD. In his senior season alone, Gordon rushed for 2,587 yards and 29 TD.

Moving on from Gordon, somehow, wasn’t difficult for Wisconsin to do. After all, it is Wisconsin. They breed RBs that can be productive at any level. Right now, we’re witnessing what Jonathan Taylor can do.

All Taylor has done in his first two season is rush for 4,171 yards and 29 TD on a 6.9 yards per carry average. He’s on pace to rush for over 8,000 yards if he stays all four years. That, folks, is absurd.

On Tuesday afternoon, Wisconsin football put out a tweet showing Gordon talking up Taylor — the newest phenomenal Badger back:

In Week 1 this season, where Taylor could rack up yet another 200-yard rushing performance, Wisconsin travels to take on USF on Aug. 30.
