On a team filled with play-making linebackers, news surfaced today that freshman linebacker Dallas Jeanty received his official release from the University of Wisconsin and is seeking to transfer.

Jeanty redshirted this past season and has four seasons of eligibility remaining. According to 247 Sports, Jeanty is looking at UCF as a future possibility after initially turning down offers from Tennessee, Cincinnati, Maryland, Indiana and Oregon State – among others – before joining the Badgers.

The 6-foot-0 inside linebacker is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which is located nearby UCF. Jeanty was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was the No. 42 ranked player at his position in the Class of 2016.

An interesting little nugget on Jeanty – courtesy of ESPN – he was homeless at one point while attending high school.
