Wisconsin Badgers senior inside linebacker and team captain Jack Cichy tore his anterior cruciate ligament prior to the season in August.

He missed the entire season and could’ve pushed for a medical redshirt and received one more season of eligibility. But Cichy decided against that idea and plans on moving on to chase a potential career in the NFL.

“I’m excited for what’s to come, but I can tell you that deciding to leave Madison was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make,” Cichy wrote in an article for the Players’ Tribune. “This place has become my home. And there are so many moments I’ve experienced here that will remain with me forever.”

Originally a walk-on for Wisconsin, Cichy tallied 121 total tackles and 6.5 sacks in 20 games during his college career.
