The B1G officially announced Monday afternoon that is has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Kerry Kenny is the man in question, a B1G executive veteran since he joined the conference as an intern in 2008. he has handled B1G matters such as rules compliance, sport administration, public affairs, sport scheduling, and health and safety across his career.

He, of course, will report to newly hired CEO Tony Petitti, who took over for former B1G Commissioner Kevin Warren.

“Kerry is a veteran executive with deep experience in the Big Ten Conference and has demonstrated an established track record of providing extraordinary service to the conference, member institutions and external partners,” Petitti said via a release Monday. “I look forward to working with Kerry as he takes on significant new responsibilities within the conference office.”

According to the release, Kenny will be oversee “all television/broadcast/media rights negotiations and execution, as well as oversight of content, digital and social media strategy.” He will also be responsible for the conference’s financial, legal and HR departments.
