Michigan and Iowa came up with big wins over the weekend, and ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit highlighted a star from each team on his list of top-performing players.

For the Wolverines, they rolled to a big win over their in-state rivals behind a monster performance from QB Shea Patterson. Patterson threw for 384 yards and four touchdowns without an interception against Michigan State. It was the most passing yards by a Michigan player in a game against the Spartans.

For the Hawkeyes, they came up with the upset of undefeated Minnesota in Kinnick Stadium. After the offense got Iowa out to an early lead, the defense came up with some crucial stops. Defensive end A.J. Epenesa was a big part of that with 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a QB hurry in the win.

On Monday, Herbstreit tabbed both players on his list of top performers from the week. Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts headlined Herbstreit’s list while Patterson checked in at No. 2. Epenesa was No. 4 on the list.
