Quick note: This season marks the first time Iowa has played in the NCAA Tournament since 2016. In his 23 years as a college basketball head coach, Fran McCaffery has never been past the Round of 32. Making a run won’t be easy this year, as the Hawkeyes take on a Cincinnati team that finished the year 28-6.

No. 5 Wisconsin vs. No. 12 Oregon

Tipoff: 4:30 p.m.

Network: TBS

Broadcast crew: Spero Dedes, Len Elmore, Steve Smith, Ros Gold-Onwude

Quick note: Wisconsin didn’t reach the tournament last year, but in Gard’s previous two seasons the Badgers made runs to the Sweet 16. As a No. 5 seed with favorable matchups in the first two rounds, there’s a good chance Wisconsin makes a trip to the second weekend of March Madness. Oregon did have a strong run in the Pac-12 Tournament to get in this position, which could be a challenge for Ethan Happ and Co.

No. 6 Iowa State vs. No. 11 Ohio State

Tipoff: 9:50 p.m.

Network: TBS

Broadcast crew: Brad Nessler, Steve Lavin, Jim Jackson, Evan Washburn

Quick note: Since an Elite Eight run in 2013, Ohio State has won just two NCAA Tournament games over the last five years. The Buckeyes barely snuck into the tournament this season and are expected to be a quick out. But Ohio State won some big games down the stretch and is perfectly capable of pulling off a big upset on Friday.
