USC has announced that redshirt sophomore, wide receiver Bru McCoy has been suspended from football team activities after being arrested on suspicion of a felony.

McCoy has been suspended following a domestic violence arrest, per ESPN.

More than a week ago, McCoy was charged with intimate partner violence with injury, according to an LAPD spokesperson. McCoy, 21, was released after posting $50,000 bail on July 24th, which was the same date as his arrest. His scheduled court appearance is on November 24.

“USC does not condone violence of any kind,” an athletic department statement read. “We are aware of the situation, and USC’s Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX is reviewing it. Because of federal student privacy laws, we are unable to share additional information at this time.

“The student-athlete has been temporarily removed from team activities.”

McCoy is a former 5-star member of the 2019 recruiting class. During the 2020 season at USC, the wide receiver totaled 21 catches for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Trojans.
