Before the season started, the picks were unanimous. BTN college football analysts James Laurinaitis, Howard Griffith and Dave Wannstedt all agreed the B1G Championship Game would feature Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Now that we’re at the midway point of the season, with six-to-seven games played from each team, the analysts had an opportunity to make changes to their preseason predictions. Only one took advantage.

Laurinaitis and Griffith both stayed with the Ohio State-Wisconsin matchup for the conference title. Wannstedt, however, made changes in both divisions. He has Michigan and Iowa meeting in Indianapolis at the end of the year.

“Right now, guys, the two best teams, in my opinion, in the B1G are Michigan in the East and Iowa in the West,” Wannstedt said. “They’re playing the best football, offense, defense, special teams. I think they’ll continue playing that way. I like Michigan vs. Iowa.”

Michigan is still undefeated in B1G play, while Iowa has one loss to Wisconsin.

The Wolverines control their own destiny, but the Hawkeyes would need some help. Even if they win out, if Wisconsin were to take care of the rest of its schedule, the Badgers would own the tie-breaker and would reach a third straight B1G Championship Game.
