Illinois has won just 10 games all season, but its currently the hottest team in the B1G.

Why? Following the Illini’s 63-56 victory over Ohio State in Columbus on Thursday night, the team clinched its fourth-straight win. That’s currently the longest active win streak in the B1G.

Not bad for a team which is 10-15 and 6-8 on the year, right?

Though a four-game winning streak isn’t always the most newsworthy topic, Illinois has had to win some important games to get to this level. Plus, to have longer current streaks than Michigan, Michgan State, Purdue, Maryland and Wisconsin is pretty impressive.

Over the last two weeks, the Illini have knocked off Nebraska, No. 9 Michigan State, Rutgers and now Ohio State. Illinois did have the benefit of playing three of those games at home.

At the end of January, Illinois also posted an impressive 78-67 win over No. 13 Maryland at Madison Square Garden, meaning the Illini have defeated two ranked teams, won a road game and a neutral-site game in the last three weeks. The only loss since Jan. 26 — the last six games — was a 86-75 contest to Minnesota at Williams Arena.

Illinois will have a chance to increase its win streak on Monday, but it will be a tough task. The Illini travel to Madison to take on No. 20 Wisconsin.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
