A lot of players on a lot of teams probably spent their Labor Day relaxing and recovering after the first few weeks of school and the first Saturday of the college football season.

That’s not how members of Illinois’ football team spent the day, though.

Instead, the Illini traveled to Urbana, where they visited young patients at the Carle Foundation Hospital. Players interacted with children, playing video games, participating in activities and handing out swag throughout the visit.

There were an awful lot of smiling faces in the video:

While the trip to the hospital was special for everyone involved, the 24-21 win over Ball State on Saturday made it even better.

The Illini host Western Kentucky this weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 pm and will air on BTN.
