A year ago, Richard Lagow was Indiana’s main man under center. But now, he will be splitting time with freshman Peyton Ramsey going forward.

During the Hoosiers’ game against the Virginia Cavaliers, Lagow was benched in favor for Ramsey. The freshman signal caller sparked Indiana to a victory. However, after the game, coach Tom Allen made it clear that Lagow was still the Hoosiers’ starter but Ramsey will get his shot. And according to Indy Star, it looks like Indiana will deploy a 1-2 quarterback system.

“It’s kind of a 1-2 punch,” Ramsey said to the Indy Star. “Defenses, they have to prepare for different things from both of us. It is beneficial that we both have different styles of play.”

To go along with Ramsey’s comments, Lagow made it clear to the Indy Star that he is comfortable with a 1-2 quarterback scheme if it helps the Hoosiers win.

“We want to win games. That’s what it comes down to more than anything else,” Lagow said. “We do complement each other well. Whatever the coaches scheme up with that, he and I are going to be OK with it.”

It will be interesting to see how Indiana utilizes the 1-2 quarterback system when it takes on Georgia Southern this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on BTN2.
