After winning a thriller in Week 1, Indiana is back at it again taking on Rutgers in what has surprisingly become a consequential Big Ten matchup.

If the Hoosiers are going to win this road tilt, they are going to do so without some key pieces. Leading up to Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff, Indiana announced players who will be missing for this Week 2 matchup.

The two names that stick out on that list are Miles Marshall and David Ellis. Marshall was a key part of the Indiana offense last weekend as he finished with four catches for 46 yards. Heading into the 2020 season, the Hoosier coaches raved about Marshall.

Ellis, meanwhile, is out for the second consecutive week. After playing as a wide receiver and kick returner in 2019, he switched to running back while continuing to be relied upon as a kick returner for the Hoosiers.

So far, there’s yet to be word on why these two are missing. Who knows if we’ll actually get the answer? The one thing we do know is these are troubling absences that the Hoosiers and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will have to overcome on Saturday.
