WATCH: Desmond King already making big plays in the NFL
Desmond King is just doing his thing in the NFL.
While he was at Iowa, King earned a reputation as one of the top defensive backs in the B1G and a threat to swing the momentum of a game at any moment. In three season with the Hawkeyes, he intercepted 14 passes, including a conference-best eight picks in 2015.
Now, he’s got his first interception in the NFL.
In the third quarter of Sunday night’s preseason matchup between the Seahawks and the Chargers, King was the defender on a long pass down the middle of the field. It should be no surprise that he was the one who came down with the ball:

King was taken in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. During his days at Iowa, he accounted for 263 tackles to go along with the 14 interceptions. He also returned three of those picks for touchdowns.
In 2015, King was a consensus All-American and was named the Tatum-Woodson Defensive Back of the Year in the B1G and also won the Jim Thorpe Award and Jack Tatum Award.
He was a two-time All-B1G First-Team selection.
