Locked in: 4-star DE, Top 50 talent picks Maryland over Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State
Mike Locksley is proving why he’s such an excellent recruiter for the Maryland football program. On Friday, the Terrapins added another big-time name to the 2021 class.
Four-star weak-side defensive end Demeioun Robinson announced his commitment to Maryland. He became the 10th player in the 2021 recruiting cycle to provide a verbal pledge to the Terps. He’s also currently the highest-ranked player to give a commitment to Maryland in this class.
Robinson made his announcement public via Twitter. The defensive end is a native of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
“What’s a better place to do it then your own city,” Robinson tweeted.

According to 247Sports, Robinson is ranked as the No. 2 weak-side defensive end in the 2021 class. He’s also one of the top 50 overall prospects in the cycle, coming in at No. 48. He’s also the third-best player from the state of Maryland.
Robinson holds two dozen offers, several from major programs. He chose Maryland over Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama and other blueblood programs. It’s a huge victory on the recruiting trail for Locksley.
Maryland now has two four-star players committed in the 2021 class. Along with Robinson — the 6-foot-3, 220-pound defensive lineman — the Terrapins received a pledge from four-star defensive tackle Taizse Johnson in late January.
With Robinson’s commitment, Maryland’s 2021 class ranks No. 9 nationally and is third in the B1G, behind Ohio State and Wisconsin.
