Maryland has added an East Coast clash to its future schedules.

On Thursday, Maryland football announced that it has scheduled a home-and-home series with UConn. The two teams are scheduled to meet in 2024 and 2026. Interestingly enough, current Huskies head coach Randy Edsall also served as the head coach of the Terrapins before returning to UConn.

Maryland will host UConn on Aug. 31, 2024 in College Park. In 2026, the Terrapins will travel to Hartford to take on the Huskies on Sept. 12.

The two teams have played three times previously, with Maryland winning two of those matchups. The Terrapins won meeting in 1942 and 2013. UConn’s lone win in the series came in 2012.

Maryland now has three non-conference opponents for the 2024 season. In addition to UConn, the Terrapins will take a road trip to Virginia (Sept. 14) and will return home to play Bowling Green (Sept. 21).

UConn is the second opponent scheduled for 2026. Maryland will also host Virginia Tech that season.
