Former Michigan football great Charles Woodson will have his legacy secured forever.

On Tuesday, Michigan Athletics announced via Twitter that Woodson would be inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 2019 class. He will be inducted alongside former Wolverines women’s basketball star Diane Dietz.

The two Michigan former Michigan players are among 10 athletes who will be inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Woodson is most well known for becoming the first primary defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy, claiming college football’s top award in 1997. That year, Michigan also won the national championship.

Woodson was also a two-time All-American while in Ann Arbor.

The formal ceremony for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame will be held on Oct. 5.
