Greg McElroy is high on Michigan heading into the 2023 college football season.

The former Alabama quarterback and current host of Always College Football dived into the Wolverines’ 2023 outlook Monday, insisting with their returning pieces they can make a 3rd straight run at the College Football Playoff.

Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum are both back, as is starting QB JJ McCarthy. As McElroy mentions, the Wolverines’ only true question mark heading into the new season is offensive line. However, with incoming transfers such as LaDarius Henderson, Myles Hinton and Drake Nugent, there is potential for a capable line come September.

Check out McElroy’s full thoughts on Michigan’s upcoming campaign below:

Michigan’s schedule seems to be favorable to make the Playoff, too. The Wolverines’ toughest non-conference opponent is East Carolina, which will travel to Ann Arbor for Week 1 on Sept. 2.

Really, Michigan’s schedule doesn’t get tough until November. The Wolverines have to play at Penn State and at Ohio State for this year’s edition of The Game. Contests at Michigan State and at Minnesota in October could potentially give the Wolverines some issues as well, though Michigan will still be considerable favorites.
