Players don’t need much incentive to win a bowl game. Playing a quality opponent in the national spotlight with a chance to end the season on the right note is more than enough to fuel any football team.

But just to sweeten the pot a little, Michigan could be in store for a special meal if it defeats Florida in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 29.

According to MLive.com, lobster and ice cream could be included on the Wolverines’ post-game menu if they knock off the Gators in Atlanta. In particular, it’s the ice cream that players are really hoping to receive.

Michigan has celebrated wins this season by enjoying a “Victory Meal,” in which ribeye or New York strip steak, lobster tails, clam chowder, and dessert are served. And 10 times this season, the Wolverines have enjoyed that menu.

That incentive is something that first-year dietician Abigail O’Connor has incorporated this season. She says the players were “adamant about having ice cream.”

The Peach Bowl will mark the third time in four seasons that Michigan and Florida have gone head-to-head. The Wolverines have never lost to the Gators, owning a 4-0 lead in the all-time series.

If Michigan improves to 5-0 in the series, it will have recorded its first 11-win season since 2011. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate that accomplishment with a big meal?
