Michigan is already well on its way to bringing in another strong recruiting class in 2020, but the Wolverines have also got a jumpstart on the 2021 cycle, too.

On Monday night, Michigan received its first commitment of the 2021 class, coming from 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle Giovanni El-Hadi. He made his announcement via Twitter.

“Thanks to all the colleges that offered me to play football at the next level,” El-Hadi wrote. “I’ll like to say that I will be verbally committing to the University of Michigan to continue my academic and athletic career.”

El-Hadi does not have any rankings from 247Sports just yet, but has received multiple offers already. In addition to Michigan, the offensive tackle received interest from Penn State, Purdue, Iowa State, Indiana, Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

El-Hadi is an in-state product as well, hailing from Sterling Heights, Michigan.
