Michigan verbal commit has change of heart, flips to Baylor
A three-star member of Michigan’s 2020 class has had a change of heart.
Baltimore native and 6-foot-5, 335-pound offensive guard Micah Mazzccua announced via Twitter that he has committed to Baylor, becoming the first player to give a pledge to the Bears since Dave Aranda became head coach. He was previously a verbal commit to Michigan.
Mazzccua is listed as one of the top 40 offensive guards in the 2020 recruiting class and is listed at No. 616 overall, according to 247Sports. He committed to the Wolverines in February 2019.

Mazzccua received six offers during the recruiting period. In addition to Baylor and Michigan, he also received interest from Maryland, Syracuse, Temple and Virginia Tech.
Michigan’s recruiting class for the 2020 cycle is still in really good shape, even with the loss of Mazzccua. The Wolverines currently rank 11th nationally and second in the B1G, behind only Ohio State.
Eight players have already enrolled at Michigan. The Wolverines’ class currently consists of 26 members.
