WATCH: Ignas Brazdeikis' defensive effort leads to beautiful breakaway slam
Things went pretty well for Michigan in the first half, taking a 34-21 advantage into the locker room over Montana in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
A big reason for Michigan’s first half success was thanks to strong play from B1G Freshman of the Year Ignas Brazdeikis. The Wolverines star finished the first half with eight points on three-of-five shooting with two rebounds and an assist.
Oh, and he had a really nice defensive effort that led to a beautiful breakaway slam:

Brazdeikis had an opportunity to make it an and-one situation, but missed the free throw. Still, creating quick offense with good defense always makes John Beilein happy.
Michigan is looking to become the fourth B1G team to post a Round 1 win in the NCAA Tournament.
