For the second straight time in the College World Series, Michigan has drawn first blood in the top of the first inning.

Michigan is squaring off against Florida State in the second game for each team in the College World Series, both having won their opener in Omaha. And it didn’t take long for the Wolverines to put a number on the board, as Jesse Franklin cranked one out of TD Ameritrade Park, giving UM an early 1-0 lead.

On Saturday, the Wolverines also scored in the top of the first inning against Texas Tech, and never relinquished the lead.

Michigan is hoping to improve to 2-0 in the College World Series with a win over Florida State. The Wolverines posted a 5-3 victory over Texas Tech in Game 1. Florida State knocked off Arkansas 1-0 on Saturday, as well.
