The three unnamed Michigan State football players who were accused of sexually assaulting a student were in violation of university policy, an investigation found.

According to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press, Lansing attorney Karen Truszkowki said the case will progress through the university’s student conduct system. She also stated that none of the players have been expelled at this point.

Michigan State conducted a Title IX investigation into the alleged sexual assault that occurred in January. As was reported earlier, that investigation concluded on Monday evening according to university spokesperson Jason Cody. There were no details released.

Cody also stated on Monday evening that no formal action had been taken against the three individuals. Since there was a policy violation that was found to have occurred, the next step in the process is to move into the student conduct system.

Sanctions for the players range from a formal warning to dismissal from Michigan State.
