Felton Davis III’s career at Michigan State has come to a close. The star receiver suffered an Achilles injury that has ended his season after just seven games.

Davis has been one of the top receivers for the Spartans for the last two years and has been particularly huge in big-game situations. Last week, he hauled in eight catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns as Michigan State upset Penn State 21-17.

Saturday, Davis hit the turf after taking a quick step prior to running a route early in Michigan State’s game against Michigan. He was carted off the field and head coach Mark Dantonio later confirmed it was an Achilles injury and that it was season-ending.

After the news, Davis issued a heartfelt message to Spartan fans through his Instagram account.

“Forever I will bleed Green,” Davis said. “Had the best 4 years of my life playing at this University. I experienced the highs and lows with everything in between. If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Davis certainly did have an incredible career in East Lansing. During his time, he totaled 100 receptions for 1,450 yards and 14 touchdowns. This season, he had 31 receptions for 474 yards and four scores.

The best ear for the wide receiver came last fall in his junior campaign. Davis totaled 55 catches for 776 yards and nine touchdowns.

Davis ranked seventh in the B1G in receptions and receiving yards this season.
