One former Michigan State star is joining the coaching ranks, returning to his high school alma mater to coach a position group.

Antjuan Simmons was a star linebacker for the Spartans, leading the team in tackles during 2019 and 2020. He posted his career-high of 90 tackles during 2019 but racked up 75 tackles in just seven games during 2020.

After finishing his career with the Spartans this past season, he is now returning to Ann Arbor’s Pioneer High School to coach linebackers:

“Pioneer family, please join us in welcoming back former Pioneer Antjuan Simmons,” the school announced Tuesday afternoon. “Antjuan has spent the past four years as a linebacker at Michigan State, and he’s returning to Pioneer to join our coaching staff as our linebackers coach.”

Simmons was a four-star prospect and the No. 7 player out of Michigan for the class of 2017 after starring at Pioneer. He was also a top-300 prospect nationally coming out of high school.

Over his four-year career, Simmons accumulated 230 total tackles, 26 TFL, and 4.5 sacks. Best of luck as he moves onto the next step in his career!
