At least one Spartans legend will be on hand for Saturday’s rivalry clash with the Wolverines.

Michigan State Football announced Friday that DE Shilique Calhoun would be on hand as the team’s honorary captain Saturday. Now a member of the Oakland Raiders in the NFL, Calhoun had quite a career with the Spartans defense.

Calhoun recorded 44 TFL and 27 sacks during his career at Michigan State. He also saved some of his best work for the Wolverines. In three career games against Michigan, Calhoun finished with 14 tackles, 7.5 TFL, and 5.5 sacks. The Spartans were 3-0 in those games.

Hopefully his presence in Spartan Stadium will help inspire MSU for this year’s game. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
