In a few months, Jim Delany’s 30-year run as the commissioner of the B1G will come to an end. He’s accomplished a lot in his career at the helm, including igniting Big Ten Network and expanding the conference to 14 teams.

Delany has helped the B1G become the league that is setting the financial bar in college athletics.

As the BTN crew continued on their annual Bus Tour this week, Delany joined the road trip for a visit to Minneapolis to take in a Golden Gophers practice. While on campus, the commissioner received some unique gifts from head coach P.J. Fleck and the Minnesota football program.

Fleck presented Delany with a helmet, a jersey and, of course, an oar. Now, he can row into retirement in a few months.

Delany certainly seemed appreciative of the gifts — and he’ll surely receive several more before his time as the commissioner officially comes to an end.
