When Ohio State takes the field in 2021, it will have one of the best offensive tackle combinations in college football.
The pairing of Thayer Munford and Nicholas Petit-Frere at the tackle positions has proven to be one of the best in the sport, and will likely be the best again this fall. A recent statistic from Pro Football Focus shows just how dominant the two have been in the trenches.
According to PFF, Munford and Petit-Frere rank No. 1 and No. 2 in lowest quarterback pressure percentage allowed among Power 5 offensive tackles returning for the 2021 season. Munford’s percentage is at 1.2% while Petit-Frere is at 1.7%.
They are the only two players under 2.0%.

Wisconsin’s Tyler Beach is right at 2.0%, giving the B1G the Top 3 offensive tackles nationally in this respective category. Not too shabby, is it?
That gives Ohio State the best offensive tackle combination in college football, paired with the best two receivers in the game. PFF also tabs the tandem of Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson to be the two best players at the position for the 2021 season.
So if you need a reason to buy into the hype about the Buckeyes this fall, those are some pretty good reasons.
