Northwestern has opened as a touchdown favorite for this weekend’s game against Minnesota.

Both teams are coming off victories, as the Wildcats downed Purdue 23-13 and the Gophers clobbered Nebraska 54-21. Northwestern opened as a seven-point home favorite for their finale at Ryan Field.

The Wildcats have rattled off five straight victories and are at 7-3 on the season. They also came in at No. 25 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings.

Minnesota has been on a bit of a roller coaster this season, but P.J. Fleck has led the Gophers to a 5-5 mark, needing one more win to guarantee bowl eligibility.

The two teams have played pretty evenly over the last eight years, with each winning four games since 2009. Minnesota got the win last year at TCF Bank Stadium, beating the Wildcats 29-12.

Saturday’s game is scheduled for a noon ET kickoff and will air on Big Ten Network.
