Northwestern continues to do well on the recruiting trail with the 2020 class.

Friday evening, three-star defensive end Sean McLaughlin announced via Twitter that he has verbally committed to Northwestern. With six months remaining until the Early Signing Period, he becomes the 11th player to give his pledge to the Wildcats.

“After a lot of thinking, I have decided to become a Wildcat,” McLaughlin wrote on Twitter. “I grew up watching Northwestern play with my grandpa and I am excited to follow in his footsteps.”

McLaughlin, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound defensive end out of Frankfort, Illinois, is listed as one of the top 15 players out of his home state. He’s also ranked as the No. 40 strong-side defensive end of the 2020 cycle, per 247Sports.

Northwestern now has four in-state players committed in its 2020 class.

With McLaughlin’s commitment, the Wildcats now have 11 verbal pledges. The 2020 class currently ranks 19th nationally and fourth in the B1G.
