Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has officially filed to appeal his six-game suspension, according to reports.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Elliott, who was suspended six games by the NFL for his involvement in an alleged domestic violence incident with an ex-girlfriend, had formally appeal his suspension.

A hearing must be scheduled within 10 days.

Elliott had been anticipating a suspension from the NFL but the length and terms were unknown.

Recently, Elliott’s father, Stacy, spoke out against his son’s accuser via Twitter. He claimed that attorney’s were “ready to fight” and that the truth would come out.

The alleged domestic violence issue occurred in July 2016. Elliott is accused of attacking an ex-girlfriend several times over a five-day period.
