Simon is a former fourth-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft after a stellar season at Ohio State in 2012. That year, the Buckeye was named the B1G Defensive Lineman and Defensive Player of the Year during a 12-0 campaign.

Simon is an eight-year veteran of the NFL. He has collected 244 tackles and 21 sacks. Last season with the Patriots, Simon played in all 16 games and totaled 46 tackles, 3 pass break-ups and 2 sacks.

This will mark the third time Simon has played for Mike Vrabel in his football career. Vrabel was a member of the Ohio State staff from 2011-13 and then also was a staffer for the Texans when Simon was in Houston.
