An Ohio State commit has received one of the highest honors for a high school football player in the state of Michigan after an incredible season.

Three-star athlete Cameron Martinez — a native of Muskegon, Michigan — was named Michigan’s Mr. Football by STATE CHAMPS! for the 2019 high school football season. He has already committed to Ohio State’s 2020 class. He held 28 offers, according to 247Sports.

Martinez was the winner of the STATE CHAMPS! Mr. Football award. He was Muskegon’s quarterback in 2019.

This season, Martinez rushed for 2,124 yards and 36 touchdowns. He also threw for 1,258 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 64-of-109 pass attempts.

Martinez is listed as a 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete and is ranked as the No. 9 player out of Michigan. He’s listed as the 16th-best athlete in the class and ranks inside the top 400 overall. He committed to Ohio State in July 2019.
