Davon Hamilton didn’t receive quite as much attention as some other defensive linemen this season. The Ohio State defensive tackle had a really good season, but maybe didn’t produce quite the numbers you’d expect.

Obviously, there’s a lot of reason behind that. While Ohio State was blowing out most of its opponents, starters didn’t need to be used nearly as much in the second halves of games. That’s just one reason why Hamilton’s production — while solid — doesn’t fly off the charts.

This week, however, NFL scouts and draft analysts had the opportunity to see the defensive tackle up close, and he appeared to put on quite the show. NFL Network analyst Charles Davis was impressed by what he saw from Hamilton.

“Under the radar, I think the defensive tackle from Ohio State Davon Hamilton (stood out),” Davis said, according to 247Sports. “Because you’re not going to have big numbers there, but I thought he did work in there today.”

Hamilton finished the 2019 season with 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks to go along with 28 total stops. The Buckeyes finished the season 13-1, winning every game by double figures, and the only loss coming to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.

Daniel Jeremiah, also of NFL Network, also think’s that Hamilton’s ability goes well beyond the numbers.

“I talked to their program about him, look, the production may not be where you want it because they blew the doors off everybody they played,” Jeremiah said. “Everybody is sitting down in the third quarter. Also, he’s  more of a run stuffer. Well, when you’re up by 30 points, teams aren’t running as much. That’s what he does best. That’s what he’s done a good job of this week.”

Hamilton took advantage of the opportunity to show what he can do on the field for an NFL franchise. He didn’t disappoint, either.
