Nick Bosa has said that he’s the best player in the 2019 NFL Draft. After watching him on the field and considering his incredibly high potential, it’s hard to argue against his statement.

But it’s Kyler Murray who’s been the talk of the draft season. Ever since he decided to leave the MLB and pursue a career as an NFL quarterback, the Heisman Trophy winner catapulted to the top of the draft charts.

With the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s draft, the Arizona Cardinals have been expected to select Murray in an attempt to land their next franchise quarterback. But according to recent reports, that may no longer be the case.

“The ownership pushed for Kyler Murray. That much I know; I was told that,” CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco reported. “And the reason they did is they were having a hard time selling tickets. Well they put it out there and Arizona was lukewarm to it. So now all of a sudden, they’re pulling back, from what I’ve been told.

“They’re going to go in a different direction. They’re not going to draft Kyler Murray.”

If that’s the case, that opens the door for Nick Bosa to creep into that No. 1 overall spot. Even at his worst projections, Bosa has been viewed as a top three selection in this year’s draft, with most mock drafts predicting he goes No. 2 overall to the San Francisco 49ers.

Murray may be too much of a risk for the Cardinals and they may want someone who can have a more immediate impact on the field. Murray might be the glamour pick, but Bosa would probably be the reliable selection.

We’ll see how everything turns out on Thursday night, when the first round of the NFL Draft gets underway.
