Penn State added a 4-star defensive tackle to its 2019 recruiting class on Saturday night.

D’Von Ellies became the 20th member of the Nittany Lions’ class, committing to Penn State over USC, Ohio State and Michigan. The talented defensive tackle made his announcement during the Polynesian Bowl.

Ellies, a native of Owings Mills, Maryland, had offers from 26 programs, according to 247Sports.

At 6-foot-2, 280 pounds, Ellies is ranked as one of the top 300 players in the 2019 recruiting class. He’s listed as the No. 22 defensive tackle and the No. 7 player out of Maryland for this recruiting cycle.

Ellies signed his National Letter of Intent, bring Penn State’s total of signed or enrolled prospects to 19. The Nittany Lions have just one player who has committed but not yet signed.

Penn State currently owns the No. 10 recruiting class nationally, and sits second in the B1G, behind only Michigan.
