James Franklin is having trouble keeping some of the top players in Penn State’s 2020 recruiting class committed.

On Thursday, another four-star athlete decided to decommit from Penn State, as cornerback Josh Moten announced his decision to reopen his recruitment. The Maryland native made his announcement via Twitter.

“After talking and having deep thought with my family, I think I pulled the trigger too fast,” Moten wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t equally give some of the universities that have been recruiting me an equal chance. So, I will be de-committing from Penn State University and opening my recruitment up all the way.”

Moten is the third Penn State commit to decommit from the 2020 class this week. Over the weekend, four-star offensive lineman Grant Toutant flipped to Ohio State. Earlier this week, Aaryn Parks, another four-star offensive lineman, also decommitted.

Parks is reopening his recruitment but says he will still keep the Nittany Lions among his top choices.

Moten, a 5-foot-11, 165-pounder from Maryland, is ranked as one of the top 15 ranked players in his home state and is the No. 31 player at his position. Overall, he’s one of the top 350 players in the 2020 class.
