With Penn State having an off week this Saturday, this weekend serves as the perfect time for Nittany Lion fans to tune in and see one of their former quarterbacks on the field, with Mississippi State hosting Kentucky this weekend.

Despite some lingering issues, it sounds like ex-Penn State quarterback Tommy Stevens plans on taking the field for the Bulldogs.

Stevens was yanked by head coach Joe Moorhead in the second half of last week’s loss against Kansas State. He was limited in what he could do in the game and didn’t appear to be his usual, mobile self. But Stevens says he’s feeling better this week.

“Feeling good, just taking it day-by-day and continuing to do the things that I can to give myself a chance to play,” Stevens said.

Coach Moorhead has noted that Stevens is further along this week than he was at this point last week, which is something Stevens agrees with.

“Yeah, I would say that’s probably fair,” Stevens answered. “I don’t know – it’s kinda hard to think about as far as where I was last week, it’s a whole new week. Yeah, I’d say it’s fair, I think I feel better.”

In two games, Stevens has completed 36-of-55 attempts for 441 yards with five touchdowns and two touchdowns. Both Mississippi State and Kentucky are 2-1 entering the game.
