David Blough’s NFL career started out with the Cleveland Browns, but it’s now continuing with the Detroit Lions. It sounds like it’s going to be a pretty good spot for the former Purdue quarterback to land.

Blough was undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, but has made the 53-man roster for the Lions entering Week 1. And, head coach Matt Patricia says that the former Boilermaker is a guy the team had been eyeing since his pre-draft workouts.

So, when they had a chance take add him to the roster, they took the chance.

“Blough we actually did a lot of work on coming out with the draft,” Patricia said. “Sean Ryan, our quarterbacks coach, went out there and worked out with him extensively. Someone we really liked. Someone from Purdue, very good player, captain, extremely strong arm, very smart, very good in the pocket, very quick with his progressions and his reads from what we saw out of college.”
