Michigan State fans probably aren’t going to be too happy with Jeff Brohm’s most recent comments.

During his weekly press conference, Brohm was asked about Purdue’s upcoming game against Iowa. While the head coach was giving the Hawkeyes some major props, he also took a slight jab at the Spartans.

“Iowa is a better football team than Michigan State,” Brohm said when asked about the Hawkeyes. “They’re in the hunt. They play outstanding football on both sides of the ball.”

Michigan State defeated Purdue 23-13 on Saturday. The Spartans also eliminated Rondale Moore and shut down the passing attack.

Iowa is still in the B1G West hunt, despite Saturday’s loss to Penn State. The Hawkeyes also have one of the top defenses in the country and will cause problems for the Boilermakers.

Brohm probably wasn’t intending to take a direct shot at Michigan State with his comment, but it certainly won’t sit well with the fans, players and the coaches. Especially after the Spartans dominated the Boilers.
